Originally from Bakersfield and raised in Porterville, California, Marilyn Perez, PA-C, is a dedicated physician assistant serving the Central Valley at Living Water Clinic. Driven by a lifelong passion for science and a deep desire to help others, Ms. Perez returned to her roots to provide high-quality medical care, filling a vital need for providers who relate culturally and personally to the local community.

Ms. Perez earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Psychology from California State University, Bakersfield, before obtaining her Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of California, Davis, School of Medicine.

Committed to leadership and community health, she is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Medical Sciences with a concentration in Public Health from A.T. Still University, further enhancing her ability to address the complex healthcare needs of the region.

In her clinical practice, Ms. Perez emphasizes the importance of accessible and culturally sensitive primary care. She operates under the “Golden Rule”—striving to treat every patient as she would wish to be treated—an approach that fosters deep empathy and trust.

Ms. Perez’s philosophy of care is profoundly influenced by her faith and the biblical principle found in James 2:18: “I will show you my faith by my works.” She believes that the way we treat others is a direct reflection of inner peace and love, and she integrates this spiritual grounding into her daily patient interactions to provide comfort during both joyful and challenging times.

Her professional journey is defined by her commitment to ensuring that every resident of the Central Valley has the opportunity to receive compassionate and comprehensive medical attention.

Ms. Perez is fluent in both English and Spanish. Outside of the medical field, she is a talented musician who enjoys playing the violin and performing as a vocalist with a local mariachi group, keeping her closely connected to her cultural heritage.
