Originally from Mexico, Alma Corvera, PA-C, is a highly experienced and well-trusted physician assistant serving the community of Woodlake and the surrounding Central Valley. Known to her patients for her compassionate and comprehensive approach, Ms. Corvera provides high-quality primary care for all ages at Living Water Clinic and feels a deep commitment to the well-being of local families.
Ms. Corvera began her healthcare journey in Mexico, where she first pursued studies in dentistry. After moving to California to transition her clinical focus, she attended the University of California, Davis, where she earned her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies.
This bicultural academic foundation has allowed her to bridge gaps in care and deeply understand the needs of a diverse patient population.
Since beginning her practice in 1997, Ms. Corvera has cultivated extensive clinical expertise, starting her career at the Tulare Community Clinic before moving to the Woodlake community in 2010. Her practice specializes in chronic disease management—including diabetes and hypertension—as well as women’s health, prenatal care, and sports medicine. She also brings valuable experience in treating work-related injuries and performing complex physical examinations.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, Ms. Corvera is a firm believer in clear communication and shared decision-making, emphasizing that healthy provider-patient relationships are the cornerstone of successful medical treatment. Throughout her years of service, she has remained dedicated to preventive screenings and immunizations to catch health issues early. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys staying active by hiking in the Sierra foothills and photographing Central Valley landscapes.
